Schools in Patna upto Class VIII to remain closed till January 7 due to severe cold conditions

PATNA: Patna district magistrate Chandra Shekhar Singh on Sunday ordered the closure of all private and government schools upto Class VIII till January 7 due to severe cold conditions.
The order will be effective across Patna district.
“It has been made to appear to me that due to prevalent cold weather and low temperature prevailing particularly in the morning in the district, the health and life of children are at risk. ….. Therefore, I, Dr Chandra Shekhar Singh, district magistrate, Patna, under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code – 1973, do hereby prohibit the academic activities of all the private and government schools of Patna district up to Class- VIII till date 07.01.2023. The order will come into force with effect from 02.01.2023,” the DM said in his order.
