PMK's goal is to develop Tamil Nadu, not to make me CM: PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss

PUDUCHERRY: PMK president and Rajya Sabha MP Anbumani Ramadoss while dispelling criticism from some quarters said the party's goal was not to make him chief minister of the state but the development of the state.
Addressing the party's 'New Year's general council meeting' in the presence of party founder leader S Ramadoss on Friday, Anbumani said to attain the PMK's goal of developing the state, the party must form the government. He said the strength of a political party does not depend on the number of elected members or ministers but the party's policy and party's dedication in the betterment of all sections of people.
Anbumani said several political parties have gone into oblivion within five or 10 years of its inception but PMK has gone from strength to strength in the last 33 years. He said the party founder, in his 43 years of public life has contributed not only to the growth of the state but also the nation.
He outlined the achievements of PMK, which included pressurizing the state to introduce a uniform system of school education, scrap entrance exams, ban on online rummy, and smoking in public places among others.
