Woman trampled to death by jumbo

Mysuru: A sixty-year-old woman was trampled to death and several others injured in an attack by a wild elephant at Chikkabeechanahalli in Hunsur taluk on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Chikkamma. Her husband Siddegowda, Ravi and other villagers were injured in the incident. The wild elephant attacked them after straying out from a forest area. Ravi and others were rushed to a private hospital here for treatment.
After getting the information, forest department officials visited the village. Chamundeshwari MLA G T Devegowda also visited the village to console the grief-stricken family members.
