Google gets the countdown started on New Year’s Eve with a special doodle

Like every year, tech giant Google decided to ring in New Year's Eve with a special doodle.

The California-based company decided to celebrate New Year's Eve with all its users. On the website, Google called it a time to reminisce about 2022 and look forward to a fresh start in 2023.

"Whether you’re setting off fireworks or setting goals for next year, here’s to the great things to come in 2023," the statement read.

In the animated doodle, the year 2022 - featured in the centre - keeps jumping to change to 2023. The doodle features all bright colours like blue, red, green, purple and beige. The art also shows the doodle surrounded by animated fireworks and glitter.

When the user clicks on the doodle, it redirects him/her to the Google search page for 'New Year's Eve 2022'.

The users are then welcomed to the page with colourful confetti. You can keep showering your page with more confetti by clicking on the confetti cone on the left side of the page.

The search page shows results for New Year's Eve, also called Saint's Sylvester's day or Old Year's Day.

New Year's Eve is celebrated every year on December 31 (the last day of the year). This time, it falls on Saturday in India and New year will be celebrated on Sunday.

On this special day, people love to ring in the New Year with their near and dear ones. While some plan extravagant celebrations, others prefer to keep it low-key with a closed gathering. The celebrations in Goa are said to be out-of-the-ordinary across India. It is also believed to be a must-visit location around this time.
