Belagavi: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president DK Shivakumar hit out at
BJP over the scraping of certain reservation categories and claimed that the government was misleading people by creating separate 2D and 2C categories allegedly for the Panchamasali and Kudu Vokkaliga communities, respectively.
“Their is no law to create such separate reservation categories. The government should consider reservation for communities demanding them under the existing categories,” he said in Belagavi.
Shivakumar further said chief minister Basavaraj Bommai did not have guts to speak on reservation and hence made law and parliamentary affairs minister JC Madhuswamy announce the cabinet decision.
“After the cabinet meet they should have announced the percentage of reservation under each category. But mere creation of 2D and 2C categories is unlawful,” he added.
