Magh Mela: Tech way to quench spiritual thirst

Prayagraj: The forthcoming Magh Mela set to start from January 6 will be a perfect sangam of technology and spirituality.
As many devotees from across the world will not be able to make it to the annual religious fair in view of emerging Covid situation, prominent seers and saints have found a perfect way to quench the spiritual thirst of their followers through advanced technology.
They will be connecting to their disciples through Skype, WhatsApp, Facebook Live, Instagram and module applications and even uploading religious discourses on social media platforms.
National president of Akhil Bharatiya Dandi Sanyasi Parishad, Peethadhishwar Swami Brahmashram Maharaj said: “Prominent seers and saints from different akharas and organisation have a long list of followers. Sometimes, many of them cannot make it to the camps of their guru’s during mela period. Keeping that in mind gurus regularly upload their religious discourses on their social media accounts.”
He added: “As prominent saints and seers move from one place to another throughout the year, the number of followers, who are connected with them digitally, are increasing by the day.”
Founder of Astro Gurukul, Amitabh Gour said: “When it comes to serving our distant followers, the advanced technological solution is helping gurus to connect with their disciples from any part of the world.”
He said most gurus, seers and saints do not hesitate in using the latest technology to connect with their followers.
“Well acquainted with latest mobile applications, we interact with our followers online and inform them about the auspicious dates and their significance in advance,” said pujya guru ji, chief of Om Namay Shivay organisation.
“Social media platforms and the latest video conferencing applications have undoubtedly helped seers and saints to get uninterrupted connectivity with their distant disciples,” he said.
Unlike previous years, when they used to be cut off from the outside world during kalpwas, this time, the mahants and gurus will be spending considerable time connecting spiritually with their distant pupils.
On the mela campus, most camps of saints and saints are armed with laptops and smart phones.
