Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Friday's session.

Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 6.20%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 4.99%), Bohra Industries(up 4.16%), Rama Phosphates(up 2.71%), National Fertilizer(up 2.32%), & Fertilizers(up 2.01%), & Chemicals(up 1.92%), G S F C(up 1.53%), Fertilizers (up 1.19%) and & Petrochemicals(up 0.97%) stood among the top gainers.

Aries Agro(down 4.07%), Agro Phos(down 2.93%), Sikko Industries(down 1.74%), ZUARIAGRO(down 1.24%), KRISHANA(down 1.17%), & Fertilizers(down 0.40%) and Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 0.27%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 85.7 points down at 18105.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 293.14 points at 60840.74.

Bajaj Finserv(up 2.39%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.73%), Coal India(up 1.53%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.45%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.32%), Adani Enterprises(up 1.25%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.01%), Bajaj Finance(up 0.99%), Tata Steel(up 0.81%) and Hindalco Industries(up 0.73%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, SBI Life(down 2.17%), ICICI Bank(down 1.89%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.78%), Grasim Industries(down 1.67%), Eicher Motors(down 1.63%), HDFC(down 1.41%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.19%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.18%), ITC(down 1.13%) and Cipla(down 1.07%) closed in the red.
