Mumbai Police recovers drugs worth rs 24L, nab 2 peddlers

The Anti-Narcotics Cell (Worli unit) of Mumbai Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered MD drugs worth Rs 24 lakh from their possession in the Mahim area here in Maharashtra, police said on Friday. MahaRERA irregularities: Five builders booked in Maha's Thane

Five builders were booked for alleged irregularities to obtain MahaRERA registration for their projects in Kalyan Dombivali in Maharashtra's Thane district, a police official said on Thursday. They are accused of forging documents and submitting bogus ones to obtain permission from MahaRERA and local bodies, the Khadakpada police station official said.

"The five were booked on Wednesday for forgery and other offences. This takes the total number of developers booked to 70. Earlier, 65 developers were booked for similar offences by Manpada and Ram Nagar police," he said.

Woman attacked with chopper in Palghar

A woman was attacked with a chopper allegedly by a man on Thursday in Maharashtra's Palghar district, a police official said. She was first rushed to Kasa rural hospital in Dahanu taluka in a critical condition and then shifted to a facility in Silvassa, where she is yet to regain consciousness, said police spokesperson Sachin Navadkar.

A 48-year-old woman was duped by her exdriver, his wife and friend of Rs52 lakh over three years by weaving an elaborate web of lies. The woman runs a travel agency and had given a car to the ex-driver, Sohel, under an agreement for work use. Sahil and his friend, Zahir, who posed as an RTO agent, scared the woman that she had been booked after narcotics were found in the vehicle. As they offered to make it all go away, the woman kept paying them. Charkop police registered an FIR against three persons.

A 49-year-old man’s dream of flying to attend his friend’s wedding in Patna landed him in jail in an alleged case of impersonation on Wednesday. Judicial custody for all nine Palghar gangrape accused

The nine accused in the gangrape of a 16-year-old girl in Palghar have been sent to judicial custody by a local court on Wednesday. Police had sought two days’ custody extension as they are yet to establish if the gangrape was pre-planned by the accused. The minor was gangraped for over 15 hours by her 20-year-old male friend and eight others in a bungalow and at a nearby beach in Palghar on December 16 and 17.

A day after two factions of Shiv Sena clashed over the control of the party office, the civic chief on Thursday sealed the offices allocated to all political parties at the BMC HQ. Teen & boyfriend 'kill her mom for objecting to affair' in Thane

A 37-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death in a fit of rage by her 17-year-old daughter and her 22-year-old boyfriend for objecting to their relationship in Mumbra on Wednesday afternoon, the police said on Thursday. The girl and her boyfriend who had fled after the crime were tracked late on Thursday to Haji Malang. The deceased, identified as Saba Hashmi, lived with her three daughters in the middle-income enclave of Amrut Nagar locality in Mumbra. The accused is her eldest daughter.
