BJP, Ajsu-P accuse state govt of failing on all fronts
Ranchi: The BJP-led opposition in Jharkhand on Thursday accused the incumbent Hemant Soren government of failing to deliver on every front, sponsoring corruption, failing to fulfill its poll promises and not reigning in criminal activities in the state. On the day Soren completed three years in office, BJP’s state president Deepak Prakash released a 16-page booklet titled “Arop Patra” highlighting the failures of the government and also released a video footage to highlight the atrocities and corruption which took place in the past three years.
Prakash termed the coalition government of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Congress and the RJD a one without vision and demanded that it was high time Soren should have come clean on his relationship with tainted businessman Amit Agarwal. He also questioned why Soren was sitting on a file which proposes investigation with jailed IAS officer Puja Singhal under Prevention of Corruption Act. “The government promised 5 lakh jobs but not more than a few hundred have got employment. They are also misleading people on OBC reservation quota and 1932 Khatiyan-based definition of locals. If they had real intent, they would not have sent it to the Centre for inclusion into the 9th schedule of the Constitution as the state government has powers to implement these on its own,” Prakash said. The saffron party also criticised the government for allowing illegal immigrants from Bangladesh to settle down in districts under Santhal Pargana. “Over 1.78 criminal incidents happened in the last three years of which 5,000 were against women. This government failed to protect the women of our state,” Prakash said.
The BJP also questioned why the state government did not roll out monthly stipend to the unemployed youth as promised. “The most number of transfer postings took place in Jharkhand and the bureaucracy earned from it. The proceeds of the earning went to you-all-know-who,” Prakash said.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ajsu party president Sudesh Mahto also said the Soren government had failed on all fronts and misled the youth in the name of jobs and unemployment allowance.
“From January 12, we will reach out to every village across the state and tell the people about the failures of this government,” Mahto said.
