A broker reacts while trading at his computer terminal at a stock brokerage firm in Mumbai — Nifty continues to climb a wall of worry as it looks to be in the final leg of its rally before heading for a correction.

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Thursday.

Shares of Federal Bank(up 2.99 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.95 per cent), State Bank of India(up 1.79 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 1.61 per cent) and IndusInd Bank(up 1.4 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.07 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Bank index closed 0.99 per cent up at 43252.35.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 68.5 points at 18191.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 223.6 points at 61133.88.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.

Shares of , , PNB, and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Uma Converter Ltd., Academy Ltd., , and Swastik Pipe Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , Inds., Godha Cabcon & Insul and Abans Holdings Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
