Goa will invest in revolving restaurant: CM
Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant, during the inauguration of the new Zuari bridge, requested Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari to sanction a light and sound show on the new Zuari bridge, which can be viewed from the lower deck and become a tourist attraction.
Sawant also said that he will ensure that the revolving restaurant atop the new Zuari bridge comes up at any cost, even if Goa has to invest partly in the project.
He said that it is a dream project, which Gadkari had given his word to ex-CM Manohar Parrikar to complete. “We remember Parrikar at the inauguration of the Atal Setu when he asked us ‘how’s the Josh?’ He said ‘I am transferring the josh to you’. It is with this josh that the BJP government got elected yet again in Goa and could complete his dream projects,” said Sawant.
“I recently visited Nagpur where they have one of the world’s best sound and light shows. I request him (Gadkari) on behalf of Goans to get a light and sound show for Goa on the new Zuari bridge.”
He said that Goa has requested aid of another Rs 3,500 crore from Gadkari to complete the remaining stretches of the state’s road network.
