Introduce anti-love jihad, anti-religion conversion law in Maha: Sakal Hindu Samaj
Nagpur: A delegation of Sakal Hindu Samaj on Wednesday demanded anti-love jihad and anti-religion conversion laws on the lines of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka, in Maharashtra.
The samaj delegation led by BJP MLA Nitesh Rane met both CM Eknath Shinde and deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said the law would protect innocent women from being trapped and harassed.
Both CM and deputy CM have assured the Samaj about a new law that will be introduced. “We were informed that a study of similar law in other states is under way. So, we hope that by the next assembly session of the state legislature, which generally occurs in March every year, the new act and law will be passed by the Maharashtra government,” Rane told media persons.
The Samaj also drew the attention of both CM and deputy CM that many times even the administration did not cooperate and entertain complaints. “In the recent past, many incidents of love jihad and forceful religious conversion have been reported from across the state. So, we need to protect innocent women from being trapped and harassed in Maharashtra too,” said Rane.
