After govt order, few private schools start giving winter break
Jaipur: Classes in private schools in the city continued Wednesday too, despite the district education department ordering all schools to be shut down for winter break. Some schools have started complying with the orders and announcing winter break.
The education department issued an order in this regard for the second time on Tuesday ordering schools to be shut for the winter break. As per the calendar of the education department, winter break is scheduled from December 25 till January 5.
The order issued by Jagdish Narayan Meena states, “It has been noticed that private schools in different blocks are still operational despite winter break in academic calendar, on which parents are complaining. All private schools must be closed and if any school if not following the orders, then action will be taken against them.”
Parents said that certain private schools in the city are still calling students and will be giving holidays from this weekend.
“Most schools are following the orders of the district administration but some big private schools in the city are still calling students for classes. Some of the schools have said that they will close schools from this week itself and keep them closed till January 8. Schools must understand the harsh weather conditions and follow orders on time, so that authorities also do not have to issue repeated orders,” said Sunil Yadav, president of All Rajasthan Parents Forum.
Earlier this month, district collector Prakash Rajpurohit had also ordered that in all private and government schools, students of primary and pre-primary section will be called for classes from 10am onwards due to dip in temperatures.
