NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his ailing mother, Heeraben, in Ahmedabad on Wednesday after she was admitted to a city hospital in the morning.
PM Modi's mother, who turned 100 in June, was admitted to UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre in Ahmedabad after her health deteriorated.
"Heeraben's health condition is stable," the hospital said in a bulletin on Wednesday afternoon.
Security around the hospital was beefed up as PM Modi visited his mother.
The PM last visited his mother in Gandhinagar during the campaigning for the Gujarat assembly elections, held in two phases on December 1 and 5. Heeraben had cast her vote in the second phase of the polls.
On Tuesday, PM Modi's brother Prahlad Modi had sustained injuries when the car in which he was travelling met with an accident near Mysore.
