Salman Khan and Rishi Kapoor shared screen space in many films. But did you know they were supposed to feature in an adaptation of Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman’s 'Rain Man'? Yes! The Hindi adaptation titled ‘Soutelay’, was announced in 1991 and was written by Salim Khan and directed by Suresh Krishna. Rishi and Salman was to essay the roles of step-brothers. Going by the reports, Salman was roped in to play Tom’s character and Rishi Kapoor as his older brother played by Hoffman, who was mentally-challenged.
