13 arrested for public drinking

Ludhiana: The Ludhiana city police lodged seven more FIRs against people consuming alcohol in open areas, besides booking two persons for smuggling illicit liquor.
In the first case, division number 1 police arrested Kanish Sharma of CMC area, Paras Aggarwal of Chaura Bazar, Harpreet Singh of Islam Gunj for consuming liquor near Cheema Chowk. The police also arrested Sumit of Pradhan Chicken corner for serving them liquor without a licence.
Division number 3 police arrested Lovely Luthra of Bangru Mohalla for serving liquor to some people outside his house. The police also seized 11 bottles of liquor from him.
Sadar police arrested Karamjeet Singh of Karnal for consuming liquor on a roadside outside a liquor vend at Ishar Chowk. Division number 5 police arrested Vikas Bansal, Sachin Mittal and Deepak Kumar (all of Barnala) for consuming liquor near Aarti Chowk on GT Road.
In another case, division number 7 police arrested Paras of Kishor Nagar for consuming alcohol in an open near Vardhaman Chowk. Tibba police arrested Sukhwinder Singh and Sunil Kumar of Jassiyan Colony for consuming liquor in their car in Shakti Nagar. tnn
