Nashik: As the city police continue action against the sale of nylon manja, one more man selling banned tread was nabbed from the Panchavati area on Monday night.
The police recovered manja worth Rs 48,000 from a 19-year-old seller from Gharpure Ghat, Ashok Stambh.
On a tip-off, the Panchavati police went to an open area in front of a public lavatory in the Ganga Ghat, Panchavati area and nabbed the youth selling nylon manja.
The police recovered 48 reels of the banned manja from him.
Senior PI Seetaram Kolhe of the Panchavati police station said that an FIR has been registered against the concerned seller under relevant sections of the IPC and Environment (Protection) Act.
The city police have started combing various parts of the city to gather information about the sale of banned manja and take necessary action against the sellers.
