HYDERABAD: Tandur MLA and key complainant in Poachgate case Pilot Rohith Reddy on Tuesday moved Telangana high court, urging it to declare Enforcement Directorate's case (ECIR) against him illegal. The court may take up the case on Wednesday.
"I am a complainant in the main case. My complaint has caused embarrassment to
BJP and hence it has unleashed ED on me. Even before the promised money to purchase MLAs was paid, a trap was laid and the way the accused in the Poachgate FIR were luring us was videographed.
"Since the case was booked and the accused arrested prior to monetary transactions, no money was found. Since there were no proceeds of crime, there cannot be any PMLA case here," he said in his plea.
Rohith Reddy, in his plea, expressed doubt over the way ED officials were functioning because "they registered ECIR on December 15 and issued summons on the same day".
He also expressed concern in his plea about an ED officer questioning him and typing details of answers on a desktop, sending them to someone elsewhere (on the internet) and receiving prompts over phone on further questions to be posed," he said.
"And, ED was trying to know details, present and past financial transactions, of our family members also, which has got nothing to do with the Poachgate case," he said. He sought a stay on the ongoing ED proceedings. The case might come up for hearing before Justice K Lakshman on Wednesday.
