Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Tuesday claimed that the state government in the state has managed to deliver on nearly 60% of the promises made by the party in its 2019 state assembly election manifesto.
With the Hemant Soren government set to complete its third year in office later this week, JMM said over 30,000 government jobs had been given and several landmark decisions and policies were rolled out despite the disruptions caused in governance by the pandemic.
"Of the 1,100 days in office, this government got only 500 days to work as the rest was hindered by lockdown, restrictions and model code of conduct which were in effect due to the four by-elections. But despite that, our government managed to give jobs, address the concerns of the police personnel, sahiyas, health workers, recruit
sports and agriculture officers and also successfully conduct the JPSC examinations and roll out the old pension scheme," JMM spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said.
JMM said 2023 would be crucial as the government will have to handle another possible surge of Covid-19 cases and the political conspiracies by the BJP. "The coming year will be crucial, but we are prepared to face the challenges," Bhattacharya said. The also rallied strongly behind its ally Congress over the recent disqualification of its Ramgarh MLA Mamata Devi and claimed that the coalition will retain the seat with a bigger margin.
"They (BJP-Ajsu) failed to win in all the four by-elections which have been held (since 2020). We won in Ramgarh by over 28,000 votes in 2019. We dare the BJP to field former CM Raghubar Das from Ramgarh so that the people there can defeat him by double the votes this time," Bhattacharya said.
