7 held in Palamu under arms Act

Daltonganj: Town police were in for a surprise when one of the seven criminals that they arrested had a tattoo on his body which said ‘Laurence 302’.
ASP-cum- subdivisional police officer Rishabha Garg, on Sunday said the criminal with the tattoo has been identified as Rajiv Ranjan Pandey of Gharhwa district.
He reportedly idolized the dreaded Punjabi gangster, Laurence Bishnoy, and hence got a tattoo of him.
Terming it as a dangerous trend, Garg said that had this guy imitated any ace footballer, no one would have raised eyebrows but Rajiv Ranjan Pandey has no regrets for having the Laurence Bishnoy tattoo.
Besides Pandey, the police arrested six other criminals between Saturday and Sunday morning under the Arms Act and recovered three country-made kattas, one country-made pistol, five live cartridges and seven cell phones.
The officer-in-charge of the town police station, Abhay Kumar Sinha, said, “All seven members of the gangster Rau Tirkey and Alex Pihu group and they were planning for some crime with the illegal arms. They were remanded in judicial custody on Sunday. Both of the gang leaders are at large.”
