Three drug peddlers caught with 3.5kg marijuana

Vadodara: Different teams of the Vadodara city police cracked down on marijuana peddlers and arrested three of them from different areas of the city since Saturday night.
In all, around 3.5kg of the contraband was seized from the peddlers.
The largest quantity of all seizures was made in Fatehgunj area where the Sayajigunj police seized 1.78kg marijuana worth Rs 17,800. They raided the residence of one Nakul Panchal in Daji Gully.
Similarly, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the city police conducted a raid in Wadi area and seized 1.68kg of marijuana.
The search at the residence of one Wasim Diwan in Khanga Mohalla led the police to the material.
Diwan reportedly told the police that he had obtained the material from a person he identified as Meena Masi. He claimed that the woman used to operate with another person who was yet to be identified.
Meanwhile, J P Road police conducted a raid in Tandalja area after being tipped off by the local crime branch of the zone about one Tausif Patel selling marijuana in an open space.
The raid led the police to 16.44 gram of marijuana worth Rs 164.
