Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.53%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Monday.

Shares of LTIMindtree Ltd(up 1.79 per cent), Coforge(up 1.35 per cent), Tata Consultancy(up 1.05 per cent), Tech Mahindra(up 0.67 per cent) and Wipro(up 0.62 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Persistent Systems(down 0.58 per cent) and MPhasis(down 0.16 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty IT index closed 0.53 per cent up at 28385.7.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 207.8 points at 18014.6, while the BSE Sensex stood up 721.13 points at 60566.42.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 ended in the green, while 11 closed in the red.

Shares of , , IOB, PNB and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , , and Vasa Retail & Overse hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , Abans Holdings Ltd., , and Transwarr Fin(PP)hit their fresh 52-week lows.
