MUMBAI: Cyber police in BKC on Saturday saved Rs 44.5 lakh that was duped in online fraud after a company's director transferred money to a account which he thought belonged to his client.
The money was saved during the golden hour after the company director called on the helpline 1930 immediately after realising that the fraudster siphoned the money in a 'man in middle attack fraud'.
The businessman realised that he was duped when he communicated with his client and learnt that they had not sent any mail asking for money to another bank account.
