Dharwad: Union parliamentary affairs minister and Dharwad MP Pralhad Joshi said the government wants to protect people from another possible wave of Covid-19 and hence is issuing guidelines to be followed.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, he said it is foolish on the part of Congress leaders to say Covid related restrictions are being imposed to prevent the Bharat Jodo Yatra launched by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. “I pray that their rally gets completed successfully. Because wherever the rally goes, the Congress has lost,” Joshi chided.
He said the government is committed to resolving the Mahadayi issue and soon a final decision will be taken. Congress has the habit of taking credit for works that have been done by others, he said.
Stating that BJP in Karnataka will go for elections under the leadership of chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, he exuded confidence that the party will emerge victorious with a thumping majority.
On holding a closed-door meeting with chief minister Bommai in Hubballi earlier in the day, Joshi said they discussed preparations to be made for Prime Minister
Narendra Modi’s visit to Hubballi-Dharwad on January 12. “The PM is scheduled to inaugurate the youth festival at Dharwad and we discussed about the preparations,” Joshi said.
