Ensure transparency in land allotmentin Magh Mela area, Dy CM tells officials
Prayagraj: Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Saturday directed Magh Mela authorities to maintain transparency in land allotment after several religious, social and spiritual organisations wanting to set up camps on the bank of Sangam alleged discrepancies.
“There should be no inconvenience to any organisation during land allotment process. Also, facilities like power, water and sanitation should be given to all organisations on priority basis,” he said.
The Deputy CM also asked officials to ensure strict compliance of Covid protocol in and around the mela campus.
He said as many as 10 facilitation centres are being set up on mela campus for visitors where they can get all information about the fair on LED screens.
Maurya also discussed the Magh Mela blueprint with officials and told them to lay special focus on security and sanitation.
The Deputy CM also asked officials to take necessary steps to promote Maha Kumbh 2025 and the Magh Mela campus should be plastic-free. Besides, a tent city would be set up at both Arail and city sides of mela area and online booking facility should be available.
“There should be adequate facilities like charging points, toilets and potable water at satsang pandals and authorities should opt for multi-coloured lights to make the mela more attractive. Also, officials must ensure that adequate amount of water is present in in Ganga during the mela,” he said.
Besides, no effluent should be discharged into Ganga and Yamuna and for that all the nullahs must be tapped completely.
He also laid his attention towards adequate fire-fighting arrangements in and around the mela campus and directed officials of power department to use best quality and new electricity wires.
Deputy CM also directed officials of health department to conduct health check up of seers, saints and kalpwasi on frequent intervals and cops must talk visitors politely.
He further asked officials and agency concerned to speed up projects related to Kumbh 2025.
Mela officials claimed special vending zones have been sent up at different sites. Besides, all necessary arrangements like testing, mask, sanitizers facilities would be available at mela entry point, railway station, bus stand and airport in view of emerging Covid scenario.
