SURAT: Three members of a family were stabbed to death by two migrant workers from Odisha over a dispute related to work and salary at an embroidery unit in Gujarat’s Surat on Sunday.
The two accused aged 18 and 17 were detained by police before they could escape from the city.
A five-member SIT has been formed by the police for further investigation.
In the incident, the owner of the weaving unit Kalpesh Dholakiya (35), his father Dhanji (61), and uncle Ghanshyam Rajodiya (51), were killed.
Dholakiya had employed the duo accused a few days ago.
They were on the job during the night.
Like a daily routine on Sunday morning Dholakiya went to the embroidery unit in Vedant Texo industrial society. He noticed damage to the textile product and held the duo responsible for negligence.
He sacked the duo from their job. While leaving, the duo demanded salary for the days they worked.
Following an argument, Dholakiya hit them with a plastic rod and kicked them out.
After a while, the duo returned to the unit. One of the accused was carrying a knife while the other had an iron rod. They entered the unit and attacked the three victims.
