Jaipur: The murder mystery of a 32-year-old married woman, whose body was found on a road in Daholi police station area of Dholpur four days ago, was solved with the arrest of her brother on Saturday.
The woman’s mutilated body was found in Kathumari area on December 20, and her face was beyond recognition as wild animals had eaten much of it. After autopsy revealed that she was shot dead, police worked on her identification and began a probe. She was identified as Pinki Singh Thakur, who had got married nearly seven years ago against her family’s wishes. The accused, her brother Ghanshyam Singh Thakur, was in jail for the murder of her father-in-law. He killed her after coming out of jail on bail, said police.
“The accused was against the inter-caste love marriage of his sister, due to which he first killed her father-in-law and then killed her. During interrogation, he said his sister was responsible for his ruined life and that his revenge would be complete after he kills her husband,” said Deepak Khandelwal, the circle officer of Maniyan of Dholpur, to TOI.
“Thakur was detained on Friday and interrogated. He confessed his crime and was arrested. He said he was upset with his sister for getting married with a man of a different caste. He said his sister had eloped and declared she got married. He said he had killed her father-in-law in a fit of anger and was in jail. That case is under trial, and he came out on bail about a month ago and planned to kill his sister,” said Khandelwal.
Interrogators said Thakur showed no signs of regret for the two murders he committed as he believes his sister was responsible for his ruined life. Thakur planned to flee to Mumbai or Pune after killing his sister.
“His planned to stay in Mumbai or Pune for some time and kill the husband of his sister a few months later,” said Khandelwal.
