CPM dist committee sets up 3-member party panel
Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM district committee has constituted a party commission to probe into the fake letter controversy involving mayor Arya Rajendran.
The three-member commission will have C Jayan Babu, DK Murali and R Ramu. The commission has been asked to submit the report in three weeks. The commission has been constituted following widespread criticisms within the party committee that the fake letter controversy has brought severe damage to the party in the district.
The mayor is of the view that she has not written such a letter to the party district secretary and her signature was forged. Though the crime branch had probed into the fake letter complaint given by the mayor, the investigating team is yet to trace the letter, which was shared on social media.
CPM district secretary Anavoor Nagappan had denied seeing such a letter written by the mayor to him. He had even claimed that he was not sure whether it is a forged one. The letter was allegedly written by the mayor to the party district secretary, urging him to send a wish list of party nominees for temporary vacancies that in various posts in the corporation.
