Six killed in explosion at brick kiln in Bihar's East Champaran

PATNA: At least six people were killed and 10 others injured in an explosion that occurred in a brick kiln at Narirgir village under the Ramgarwa police station area in East Champaran district on Friday evening.
The brick kiln owner, Mohammad Irshad, was also killed in the explosion, additional director general of police (headquarters) Jitendra Singh Gangwar told TOI.
Chief minister Nitish Kumar has expressed his grief over the incident and asked the district administration to make all necessary arrangements for proper treatment of the injured persons.
"Soon after getting information about the blast, a police team led by the additional SP, Raxaul, and the SHO, Ramgarhwa, rushed to the spot, which is around 4km in the north-east direction from the police station. All the injured persons were immediately rushed to the nearby hospitals by the police team," Gangwar said, adding six of them died either on way to hospital or soon after reaching the hospital.
Of the 10 injured persons, seven are admitted at the SRP hospital, Raxaul and three at the local primary health centre. "A police team is camping at the spot," Gangwar said.
The DM and SP of East Champaran also visited the spot and took stock of the situation.
