Woman brings tobacco for son in jail, booked

Ludhiana: Division number 7 police booked a woman for supplying tobacco powder to her son lodged in Ludhiana central jail. The powder was hidden in her shoes.
Sukhdev Singh, assistant superintendent at Ludhiana central jail, said on Thursday, Sarabjeet Kaur, the accused, had come to the jail with a bag in which she had some clothes and a pair of shoes for her son Palwinder Singh of Samrala Manpur area.
She handed over the bag to the jail staff and left. While checking the bag, employees found 60g tobacco powder hidden in the shoes. Following a complaint by the jail authorities, police registered a case. tnn
