NAGPUR: Eyeing another world record, chef Vishnu Manohar, along with 1,200 students of TBRANS Mundle English Medium School, will be cooking 6,000kg mix-veg.
The chef has coined the term ‘samarasata bhaji’ or ‘harmony vegetable curry’ for the mega dish. Preparations for the marathon cooking session are in full swing at the school with enthusiastic students enjoying every stage. On Friday, they had a gala time sorting vegetables, especially green peas.

The cooking process will start from December 24 midnight and the dish will be served piping hot at 10 am on December 25, Vishnu Manohar said. “We will have a grand celebration. For the first time, thousands of kids will work along with me. Together we will achieve a world record,” he said.
Makarand Pandharipande, president of The Blind Relief Association of Nagpur (TBRAN), said that they want to create awareness about healthy food habits in children. “Only organic spices will be used to prepare the dish. We will also give a message of harmony and unity through this project,” he said.
All students, staff, and visitors have been asked to bring tiffin boxes at around 10 am on December 25 and get a free parcel of the ‘harmony vegetable curry’. The organizers will also distribute it to inmates of all major orphanages in Nagpur.
The school, celebrating its silver jubilee year, wants to make this a memorable event. A special team of Lezim dancers will perform at the venue while the chef and his team prepare the food. Several fun-filled activities apart from a session highlighting nutritional values of vegetables will also be held. The vegetable waste of the event will be used to train children in making organic compost fertilizer.
