1L Divyangs, 302 transgenders’ names added to electoral rolls

Jaipur: As a part of the ongoing special summary revision programme, conducted by the state’s election department, names of 302 transgenders have been added to the electoral roll. Also, names of 1.05 lakh persons with disabilities (PwDs) have been added to the voter’s list as a part of the programme, said state’s chief electoral officer Praveen Gupta.
With the addition of 1.05 lakh names of PwDs in the voter’s list, there are now 6.30 lakh specially-abled voters in Rajasthan. Over 4 crore applications have been received by the state election department for linking voter IDs with Aadhaar numbers in Rajasthan since August, said Gupta.
A special campaign was launched by the state’s election department from August 1 to collect Aadhaar details of voters to be linked with their voter IDs.
For linking of Aadhaar number with the electoral roll data (voter’s list), a provision has been made in the modified registration forms to seek Aadhaar details of electors. New Form-6B has been introduced for collecting Aadhaar number of existing electors. TNN
