BJP to felicitate MLAs in mega function in Gujarat

SURAT: Within a week of Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya having written a letter to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asking him to follow Covid protocols or postpone the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, the city unit of BJP is all set to host a massive gathering on Sunday to felicitate 12 BJP MLAs who were elected to the assembly in the December elections.
BJP retained all the seats in the city while four of its MLAs won with with a lead 1 lakh-plus votes. At the event, state BJP chief C R Paatil will also be felicitated. The event also aims to thank the voters for their support.
Around 30,000 people are expected to gather at Vanita Vishram Ground on Sunday evening. The event will be virtually addressed by Union home minister Amit Shah.
City BJP leaders claimed that the event will be held keeping all Covid guidelines of the government in mind. “We will keep 50,000 masks ready to be given to the participants. There will not be violation of any guideline,” said Niranjan Zanzmera, city BJP president.
The event will be followed by dinner where a large number of party supporters are likely to attend.
