67th Rail Week: Banaras Locomotive Work, felicitates officers, employees for commendable work

VARANASI: A total of 65 officers and employees of Banaras Locomotive Work, who did excellent and commendable work during 2021-22 in various fields, were felicitated on the occasion of 67th Rail Week prize distribution ceremony organized at Rangshala on Friday.
The employees were felicitated by the general manager Anjali Goyal with cash prizes, medals and citations. She also gave away collective awards to eight sections/shops of BLW, which included Best Housekeeping Shop Award- Truck Machine Shop, Best Working Shop Award- New Block Shop, Best Safety Performance Shop Award - MRS , Best Service Shop Award - Maintenance Area-I (MA-I), Best Stocking Ward Award – H.L.S.-39, Second Best Stocking Ward Award – TOT 37, Best Purchase Section Award – Purchase Section – 07 and Second Best Purchase Section Award – Purchase Section – 03.
In the category of individual awards, the GM honoured the works manager, Bhagwan Prasad Gupta, who received the National Rail Award-2022 for Distinguished Service by the Ministry of Railways.
Congratulating the award winners, the GM said that the employees and officers of BLW, with their efficiency, not only maintained the production capacity, but also produced more locomotives than last year. The BLW is making significant contributions in the field of Indian economy. In 2021-22, BLW produced a record 367 locomotives.
Similarly, in 2021-22, spares worth Rs 16.43 crore was given to non-railway customers, which is the highest value of spares given in any financial year. Besides, 4 locomotives worth Rs 60.48 crore were sent to Mozambique and purchase orders for 9 locomotives worth Rs 108.41 crore have been received from non-railway customers, including one locomotive for Mozambique. So far in this financial year, BLW has received purchase orders for 6 locomotives worth Rs 56.34 crore from non-railway customers.
