LUCKNOW: Buoyed by the impact and result of ground-level campaign for the Mainpuri Lok Sabha bypoll,
Samajwadi Party national president
Akhilesh Yadav on Friday said the party will adopt the ‘Mainpuri model’ for the 2024 parliamentary polls and 2027 Vidhan Sabha elections to register emphatic victory in both the elections.
“Mainpuri model has turned the Gujarat model obsolete. Those who used to talk about the Gujarat model are now talking about and studying the Mainpuri model,” he said.
Akhilesh was speaking at a function organised on the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Charan Singh at Chaudhary Charan Singh Inter College near Saifai.
He said that the victory of Mainpuri Lok Sabha by-election is huge.
Yadav said that the “injustice of the BJP government” is increasing in the state. “SP leaders and workers are being sent to jail in false cases. Recently, when we went to Kanpur, our MLA Irfan Solanki was sent to Maharajganj,” he said.
“We will make a strategy to launch the Jail Bharo movement against injustice of the BJP government,” the SP chief said.
Targeting UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Yadav said that he had come to Karhal, talking about football.
“It is good that he did not come to Jaswantnagar because the people here are like a spring, the more you press, the more they will jump,” added the SP chief.
While congratulating and giving best wishes to the farmers on the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Charan Singh, Akhilesh Yadav added that Chaudhary Saheb used to say that the farmers should keep one eye on the plough and another on Parliament.
“Chaudhary Charan Singh and Netaji (MSY) took very big decisions for the farmers and worked for their advancement,” he said.
