Govt publishes maps, satellite survey report
Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has published survey maps of areas around 22 wildlife sanctuaries and national parks in the state, as per decisions taken at the high-level meeting for finalising the eco-sensitive zones. It also published the report of the satellite survey of the proposed one-km buffer zone on Thursday.
The maps -- of protected forests and buildings, organisations and roads around them -- were prepared and submitted to the Centre last year with zero buffer zones. Any contention or opinion regarding the maps can be raised with the expert committee constituted by the government on email address, eszexpertcommittee@gmail.com, till January 7.
The proforma for submitting complaints or suggestions can be downloaded from the website of public relations department, among others, where the maps have been published.
