A winter storm warning continues for the area until 4 a.m. Saturday.

Snow and strong winds are forecast to continue throughout the day.

"I know crews are out all over county," Bill Hazelton, St. Clair County Road Commission managing director said in an email. "Talking to foreman, they are just plowing off the snow to keep roads as clear as possible. Salting will encourage the snow to stick to road and form ice with low temperatures and wind."

With a high of 12 degrees today, the National Weather Service said the area could see another 1 to 3 inches of snow Friday, with winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour. Friday night will have a low of 9 degrees.

The Michigan Department of Transportation Bay Region has tweeted multiple traffic issues.

"Plows are out statewide, but so are crash incidents. If you don’t have to travel right now, please stay off the roads. Crews are blading and salting where appropriate, but temps and wind are going to make this a very long day."
