Mysuru: Uniting under the banner of the
Karnataka State Backward Classes’ Action Forum, activists gathered in front of the bust of
Mahatma Gandhi in Mysuru on Thursday to protest the Karnataka government’s purported move to reduce reservation for smaller communities, and other disadvantaged sections of society.
The protesters alleged that the state government was being pressured by groups of dominant castes and communities, which were trying to get the benefits of reservation. The protesters demanded that the state government ensure reservation was extended to the vulnerable sections of society. tnn
