Man tries to torch wife in Gujarat's Junagadh, arrested

RAJKOT: A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly throwing some inflammable material on the house of his estranged wife, which resulted in burn injuries to her sister.
Krunal Solanki and his friend, a minor, had thrown some liquid and a burning cloth from the window of his wife Khushi’s house in the Joshipura area of Junagadh around midnight on December 19. Her sister Khushbu woke up after feeling some burning sensation on the abdomen, legs and thighs. Suddenly, her clothes caught fire. Her mother and sister rescued her and saw somebody fleeing on the bike.
During investigation, police got to know that Khushi and Solanki had some dispute and she was living at her parents' house for the last couple of months. Solanki was trying to convince her to return but she was not ready.
MM Gohil, police inspector, special operation group (SOG) said, “We had specific information that Khushi’s husband was involved in this act. A team of crime branch was sent to Porbandar where he stays and Solanki confessed that he wanted to cause grievous injuries to his wife.”
