In a major blow to Bigg Boss Tamil, superstar Kamal Haasan is likely to quit the reality TV series.

As per the latest buzz, Kamal, who is currently hosting the ongoing sixth edition of Bigg Boss Tamil, is keen upon quitting the series despite the hefty pay cheque being offered to him for the upcoming seventh season. If insider reports are to be believed, Kamal also wants to take a break from hosting the show due to his work related commitments and also the monotony he has been feeling. While an official confirmation on this is awaited at the moment, Kamal is most likely to announce his decision very soon. Season 6 is currently inching close to its finale. Speculations are rife that the show hasn't been performing well on the TRPs. Host Kamal Haasan had earlier warned the contestants about their performance as well.

To the unaware, Kamal quit hosting the exclusive OTT edition Bigg Boss Ultimate to shoot for his film Vikram. Famed actor Silambarasan aka STR has stepped into his shoes as an ad-hoc host. Kamal Haasan, however, returned to host the ongoing sixth edition. He continued to host the show despite his illness as well demonstrating his commitment towards the show. He has been associated with the reality TV series in Tamil since its launch. He has hosted six TV seasons and an OTT edition as well.

It remains to be seen if STR will be approached when Kamal Haasan calls its quits.
