VASCO: NCP state president Jose Philip D’Souza said that the government must ensure that the banning of loud music beyond 10pm for outdoor programmes does not affect traditional
festivals.
While appealing to the government to not take decisions that hurt people’s sentiments, he said, “I am not talking only with respect to the celebrations of Christians in particular. Festivals and traditions of other communities have also been disturbed.”
The government’s stand on the issue has created apprehension in people’s minds, he said, adding that it should have issued a statement bringing clarity on the issue earlier (soon after the high court order). TNN
