Pollachi all set to host Tamil Nadu International Balloon Festival eighth edition
CHENNAI: The eighth edition of Tamil Nadu International Balloon Festival (TNIBF) will be held at Pollachi from January 13 to 15.
During this three-day festival, hot air balloons from various countries will be flown.
It is organized by Global Media Box with support of the Tamil Nadu tourism department.
The countries that are participating include Brazil, the Netherlands, Canada, Belgium, Spain, Vietnam, France, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
“Pilots from across the globe are visiting Pollachi to fly these balloons. There is a woman pilot coming from the Netherlands. She is the only woman pilot who has been to Tamil Nadu for all the eight editions,” says Benedict Savio, founder, TNIBF and director, Global Media Box.
Three balloons will have a special shape. One of them is a ‘Dino’ balloon, resembling a dinosaur, from Brazil. Another is a ‘Smurf’ cartoon balloon from Belgium and the third is a ‘Blue Bear’ balloon from Canada.
There will also be a music concert by Thaikkudam Bridge, activities for children such as face painting and an all-day food carnival, and helicopter rides. Save the date!
