Survey to monitor TB progress in 12 districts
Jaipur: The Centre has begun survey in 12 best-performing districts of the state for eliminating tuberculosis for analysing the progress for achieving the goal in 2025.
The Centre has set a target to achieve TB-free Rajasthan by 2025. In this regard, in 12 districts (Bhilwara, Banswara, Bara, Barmer, Chittorgarh, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Kota, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh and Sikar), survey has been started to review the TB-free campaign.
During the survey, TB-free efforts in these districts will be reviewed and these districts will be categorised further. Last year, Barmer district of the state got this award in silver category and Pratapgarh, Bara, Sikar in bronze category by Union health ministry.
State TB officer Dr Vinod Kumar Garg said that during the sub-national certification, the work of survey and sputum collection and investigation will be done in the identified villages of the nominated districts and the records of the last seven years will be analysed and evaluated.
“This whole process is a kind of independent external evaluation. It will be analysed that since 2015, how much infection rate has decreased in the currently nominated districts,” said Dr Vishal Singh, district TB officer, Sikar.
