Cops scanning CCTV footages to crack loot case

Prayagraj: The Civil Lines police are scanning CCTV footages to identify the miscreants who had looted Rs 2 lakh from a woman while she was returning home from bank in broad daylight on Tuesday.
According to reports, a resident of Naini area, Shanti Devi and her son had withdrawn Rs 2 lakh from a bank’s branch in Civil Lines. As the duo reached Mishra Bhawan Crossing on Elgin Road for hiring auto for Naini, two unidentified miscreants came on bike and snatched the bag containing the cash from Shanti Devi and sped away.
The mother-son duo raised an alarm but in vain. SHO of Civil Lines police station Virendra Kumar Singh said CCTV footages in the vicinity are being scanned to identify and nab looters. Some suspects have been being questioned, he added. tnn
