Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:19AM

Godrej Consumer Products(up 1.36%), Prataap Snacks(up 0.98%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 0.32%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.27%) and Marico(up 0.26%) were among the top gainers.

Umang Dairies(down 6.16%), Hindustan Foods(down 4.48%), Varun Beverages(down 3.93%), ADF Foods(down 3.62%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 3.20%), Parag Milk(down 2.45%), Vadilal Industries(down 1.89%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 1.77%), Bajaj Consumer(down 1.60%) and Nakoda Group(down 1.59%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 40.1 points down at 18159.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 109.81 points at 60957.43 at around 10:19AM.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.77%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.76%), Grasim Industries(up 0.76%), Infosys(up 0.73%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.63%), Enterprises(up 0.52%), Cipla(up 0.42%), HCL Technologies(up 0.4%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.28%) and HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.14%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, UPL Ltd(down 2.17%), Tata Motors(down 1.92%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.82%), Axis Bank(down 1.68%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.62%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.51%), Tata Steel(down 1.42%), Coal India(down 1.36%), Eicher Motors(down 1.34%) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.13%) were trading in the red.
