NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: Due to the cold weather and fog in north India, the district administrations of GB Nagar and Ghaziabad have announced that schools will begin at 9am.
The new start times will take effect in GB Nagar on Thursday, and the district inspector of schools in Ghaziabad implemented the change on Wednesday.
Under the directive, all basic, secondary schools, madrasa education boards, Sanskrit schools and council schools as well as those affiliated with ICSE, CBSE and UP board will function from 9am starting December 22.
“I have given instructions to all school operators to comply with the directives starting December 22 as provided by the district inspector of schools (DIOS),” said district magistrate GB Nagar Suhas LY.
DIOS GB Nagar Dharamveer Singh said, “The change in timing will be implemented from Thursday given the cold weather and fog situation in the region.”
In Ghaziabad, however, the said change was already implemented on Wednesday. “We had already issued the directive on Tuesday,” said Rajesh Kumar Srivas, DIOS Ghaziabad.
