COIMBATORE: A 60-year-old old woman was found murdered in her house in Coimbatore district of
Tamil Nadu on Wednesday evening.
Gold ornaments weighing 11.5 sovereigns were missing from the house.
The murdered woman has been identified as M Sarojini, 60, of North Street at Jadayampalayam village. She was a homemaker.
The murder came to light when her husband S Murugaiyan, 62, and son M Sureshkumar, 34, returned home after work in an agricultural field they had taken on lease.
Sarojini had sustained a deep stab injury on her left neck and another injury on her head.
An unidentified person had entered the house and taken away 11.5 sovereigns of gold ornaments from a bureau in the house. The gold ornaments Sarojini wore were not removed.
The Sirumugai police registered a case and formed four special teams to nab the murderer.
