Cross FIRs registered in Allahabad Univ violence

Prayagraj: A day after large-scale violence and arson on the Allahabad University campus, two cross-FIRs were lodged by a student leader and security guards till Tuesday afternoon.
The first FIR was lodged at the Colonelganj police station by a former student leader against 30-40 security guards of the university late Monday, while the other was lodged by a university security guard against eight student leaders on Tuesday.
“We have registered FIRs from both sides and have started a probe in the matter,” said inspector Colonelganj, Ram Mohan Rai. Heavy police force, including RAF, PAC and local police, was deployed on the University campus, which was closed on Tuesday.
