MUMBAI: Amey Darekar (25), arrested in a case of attempt to murder for allegedly pushing his girlfriend Priyangi Singh (24) from 18-ft-high water tank on the 15th floor of a Borivli building on November 12, on Monday applied for bail at the Borivli metropolitan magistrate's court.
In the bail application, Darekar, who is lodged in Thane Central Jail, claimed that it is a false case and he has no motive to harm Singh. He also claimed that it was in fact Singh who refused to see a doctor or go to a hospital when his mother - co-accused Radhika - asked her to do so. It was on Singh's instance that Radhika took her home, it added.
Amey's bail application further mentioned that Singh had said she had consumed alcohol and hence, did not want to go to a doctor. Singh underwent a 6-hour spinal surgery in which she got 14 screw implants.
