Facelift for 11 govt health centres in six months
Gurgaon: Eleven primary healthcare centres in the city are set to get a facelift within six months, for the National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certificates.
The NQAS is the recognition of fulfilling the standards required to be maintained by public health institutes. The health centres should have dedicated areas for biomedical waste, colour coded dustbins and clean streets around the facilities. The makeover of these centres will include proper emergency wards, sample collection centres, bilingual signs and pictorial guidance for patients. They will also have a dedicated green belt.
This is aimed at promoting cleanliness and enhancing quality of services at every level for the patients. “The health care centres will get between Rs 1 to 5 lakh to maintain the premises for the NQAS certificate. This procedure aims to bring changes in the health systems,” Virender Yadav, chief medical officer, Gurgaon, said.
